The Virtual-Reality Future for Hollywood Blockbusters

Nov. 20 (Bloomberg) –- Virtual reality is most commonly associated with video games, but a company called Jaunt VR is creating the virtual reality equivalent of movies. Their 14-lens camera captures the surrounding world in an immersive sphere of video — the viewer puts on a VR headset and can look around in any direction. Jaunt’s goal is to get their technology into the hands of Hollywood filmmakers and turn “cinematic VR” into the next blockbuster form of entertainment. Jaunt CEO and Co-Founder Jens Christensen talks to Bloomberg’s Sam Grobart for Bloomberg’s “The Year Ahead: 2015” series. (Source: Bloomberg)
